A Little About Me…

Wingspan Aviation is a flight instruction and contract services business that began in June of 2025.

Hey there! My name is Cole Kramer, founder and Chief Flight Instructor at Wingspan Aviation. I grew up in Seneca, KS, and I plan to make it my permanent home someday. After graduating from Nemaha Central High School in Seneca, I went on to double major in Finance and Accounting at Kansas State University. I used those degrees as an accountant for a few years before starting down the path of becoming a pilot. I hope this gives you a better idea of who I am and shows you some insight into my background!

Aviation hasn’t exactly been a family tradition for me. As far as I know, I’m the first pilot in my family. I made the leap into flying after realizing that the office life just wasn’t for me. While I’ve always had a passion for number crunching and working with Excel, I knew I needed something more dynamic, and aviation was the perfect fit. I always like to point out to both pilots and non-pilots that aviation is a unique industry where people can pursue it both as a career and a hobby. There aren’t many fields that offer this dual aspect, except maybe sports, but that's not something most people can do. As the saying goes, "If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

I started my pilot training in the fall of 2023 and picked up flying fairly quickly. Within a year and a half, I had earned my PPL, IRA, COM (ASEL & AMEL), CFI, and CFII certificates and ratings. I’m looking to add the MEI rating soon, and in the next couple of years, I plan to work toward obtaining my ATP (ASEL & AMEL).

Although I grew up in and currently live in Seneca, I do the majority of my flying at Sabetha, where I instruct members of the Sabetha Flying Club. I teach in a Cessna 150 and a Piper Archer. If you're interested in starting your training, please don't hesitate to reach out using any of the contact options below.

Thanks!

Cole Kramer
