How long does it take to get my pilot certificates?

What are the age requirements?

You must be 16 to become a student pilot and 17 to get your private pilot certificate. After that, you will need to be 18 to get your commercial pilot certificate.

How do I get my medical certificate?

Step 1: Visit https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress/

Create an account and fill out the forms for either a class 1 (aviation career) or class 3 (hobby) certificate.

Find an AME to schedule an appointment.

What is a typical flight training day like?

We operate our flight training sessions in 2 hour blocks. You can expect to take 15 minutes before and after the lesson for pre-flight and post-flight briefings. The material covered in the lesson is outlined in the course syllabus that is provided on your first day.

Is there a uniform policy?

No, however we request that you do not wear open-toed shoes, flip flops, or sandals as we do not want these items to slide off your feet while operating the rudder pedals.

What do I need to bring to the first lesson?

Please bring a logbook, passport or birth certificate, driver’s license, and your FAA medical certificate (if you have it already). Additionally, bring a method of online payment to enroll you in the GoldSeal ground school.
